With memberships and newsletter subscriptions made simple out of the box, we think that Ghost is the best open-source publishing platform out there today. (yes, even better than Wordpress) But we also know that many people prefer to write and edit their work in Google Docs.
To bring these two things together, we built the first direct integration between Google Docs and Ghost. With our Google Docs Add-on, you can publish your posts to Ghost directly from Google Docs, without having to sign-up for any complicated and expensive automation service.
To demonstrate how powerful we think that Ghost can be for small publishers, we've built an open-source theme called Newsliner.
Newsliner is a fully responsive theme built around newsletter sign ups, with a prominent call-to-action in the main hero image as well as sign up forms after every blog post. You can also make some articles available only to people who are logged in as subscribers. All with features that are available by default with Ghost.
